Selected Scene from "No Exit"
Join the Theatre & Dance Department for a selected scene from October's production of Jean-Paul Sartre's "No Exit," a seminal play that delves into the human psyche and the nature of hell. Set in a single, unadorned room, the story follows three characters—Garcin, Inez, and Estelle—who are mysteriously trapped together for eternity. As the tension mounts, their interactions reveal dark secrets and psychological torment, encapsulating Sartre's famous assertion that "hell is other people."
No Exit offers a timeless examination of the consequences of our actions and the ways in which we confront or evade responsibility. The play addresses serious themes, including suicide, sexual content, infanticide, sexism, violence and torture. We encourage attendees to consider their own well-being when engaging with these challenging topics.
